R2/Plat
From RockServ
Rock is Plat's lovechild and he is also the most active administrator in the game. Here is an archived exerpt concerning him:
"Strange visitor from another world. Tyler came to us when he was captured trying to steal parts and tools from our engineering labs. He finds us humans to be amusing and never resists a chance to explain how superior his people are to ours, though he is the one that can't get his plasma drives fixed. Currently he works in our advanced technology group where he tries to explain his technology in a way that our, in his words, "puny human minds can comprehend."
Plat's profile might enlighten you as well. It might enlighten him, too.

MajorMUD
Plat used to be a heavy player of a game called "MajorMUD", which ran on the MajorBBS systems. He ("Lactose Intolerant" - Goblin Ninja) and Kler ("Klerian Darkstar" - Dark-Elf Gypsy) spent incomprehensible amounts of time in that game.
He even had his own MajorMUD site, which featured strange humor along with semi-useful content (for example, it was the only decent place to get any terminal scripts for the Mac).
Some strangely-insightful URLs of this long-dead site include:
- The unofficial MajorMUD bug list. Some players were even kind enough to e-mail him the bugs he missed.
- The Adventures of ScriptMan - a light-hearted tale of some fictional scripters, formatted as though it was part of the MajorMUD game. Very strange, and funny. Especially when you consider that a "rival BBS" had some members who were shallowly against any notion of scripting. If there was any cake, this "comic" was the icing to go on top. Be prepared for lots of scripting jokes.
- MajorMUD had an area similar to R2's arena (except, of course, it appeared much earlier), called the Battlegrounds. Plat wrote a pretty detailed Battlegrounds FAQ for it.
- News Flash: Rock isn't the only project that Plat's dragged out.
- Jorge and Plat (and even Ries (herein, "Bane") a little), answered questions people had about MajorMUD. Even though nobody asked them directly. How nice they were.
- Lots and lots of ProTERM scripts for the mac, including an LSD simulator,
, a way to build a communication channel across BBSes, a "BattleField" combat game that took place over one of MajorMUD's broadcast-like communication channels, a way to estimate a character's stats by looking at them, and perhaps the most-popular, the StaticRoamer, a relatively-advanced roaming script for its time. I don't think he got any shareware money from that script either. Some things never change.
He had a 16mhz Macintosh II at the time. With Netscape 2. Ahh, those were the days.
LORD
He also played a little LORD (Legend of the Red Dragon), a nearly pointless turn-based game which was mocked in the original Rock intro.
